God's Love... The Cross

Hey everybody, I'm back from my short hiatus... I've been conducting a discussion about God's existence with an atheist. I'm thinking about posting it once the conversation is over. Tomorrow, I'll be gone for the day, so I hope this beautiful picture will hold you over until I get back. In the meantime...
I'm sharing this picture today in accordance with Renee's meme, Something Beautiful. Renee, I hope you don't mind that I'm doing this a bit early. I decided to add a Scripture to this photo, but I wasn't sure what would fit it at first. However, I now believe I have found the PERFECT passage, and I wanted to share it with y'all. I don't have any commentaries today, but I think the Scripture/picture combination speaks for itself... One thing that I will say is that I think it's pretty awesome that the sun looks a lot like a cross; this is why I thought the Scripture was quite pertinent -- the cross is the very essence of God's love for us.     Wow, that's cool! :) That is interesting how the sun looks like a cross! And how cool that the sun shining through the trees can be used to represent the Son of God who died on the cross to give us continual sunshine in our lives! :)

    Thanks, all! :D I took a few more pictures like this yesterday, though I'm not sure how they came out... I love to take pictures of the sun and the sky; if these pictures turn out, you'll see them on my photography page. And Renee, you hit the nail on the head; that is exactly what I was thinking -- the parallel between the sun and the Son of God! How awesome! Thank you all for your comments!

April Fools

Today is April Fool's Day. While I am not too enthralled with the idea of playing tricks on people, I wanted to share a little story with you all (no offense meant to those to whom it refers): An atheist complained to a Christian friend, "You Christians have your sacred holidays, such as Christmas and Easter. Jews celebrate their national holidays, such as Passover and Yom Kippur. But we atheists have no recognized national holidays. It's unfair discrimination." His friend replied, "Why don't you celebrate April first?" On a more serious note, I would like to remind you all that we are called to be "fools for Christ" (1 Corinthians 4:10). This does not mean that we are to act stupid in the name of Christ; rather, it means that we are to go about God's business -- even if it makes us look like fools in the process.
