WFW: It's All about Him

Ever had one of those days when there is just SOOO much to do? This week has been rather crazy for me; with a deadline coming up, today found me running around in circles in a frenzy -- How was I going to get all of this done? Sometimes, there seems to be no end to the problems. I know what you're thinking... we've all had those days, haven't we? Often, when this happens, it is easy to lose sight of God and focus "me" and "my" problems. So after my "escapade," I was all stressed out, BUT everything went well; I made it through (and yes, that means I will have more blogging time, I hope)! At the end of the day, I found myself thanking God; I found myself thinking that, although I messed up, God is so merciful to help me. I was reminded of this verse, so I wanted to offer it as an encouragement... 2 Timothy 2:10-13 "Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." Oh, one more thing -- Often, when we doubt, we can beat ourselves up for it... We know that God will help us; how could we be so BAD? The good news is that His mercies are new every morning! 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." It's not about us; it's about Him, and His faithfulness toward us!

    Maybe it was something in the air... I had one of them there weeks, too! LOVE that scripture-- His mercies are new every morning.

    Hello Ms. Szymanski. Great post! I know what you mean about hectic weeks -- maybe we were all going through it at the same time. That realization makes it easier not to focus on self; when one part of the body suffers, all the members suffer with it.

    Thanks for the encouraging verse. It is a reminder to turn the focus back on Jesus, "and the things of earth grow strangely dim."

April Fools

Today is April Fool's Day. While I am not too enthralled with the idea of playing tricks on people, I wanted to share a little story with you all (no offense meant to those to whom it refers): An atheist complained to a Christian friend, "You Christians have your sacred holidays, such as Christmas and Easter. Jews celebrate their national holidays, such as Passover and Yom Kippur. But we atheists have no recognized national holidays. It's unfair discrimination." His friend replied, "Why don't you celebrate April first?" On a more serious note, I would like to remind you all that we are called to be "fools for Christ" (1 Corinthians 4:10). This does not mean that we are to act stupid in the name of Christ; rather, it means that we are to go about God's business -- even if it makes us look like fools in the process.
