Like A Rainbow In A Cloud On A Rainy Day...

(I have to give a friend credit for this picture! I found the Scripture while doing a word search on my Bible program. And I just love how well the two go together! :D )
Notice how the Scripture likens the rainbow/the glory of the Lord to the brightness around the throne; similarly, we are to let our lights shine. But how can we do so if there is no light in us? God is Light; therefore, we need to spend time with Him in order to get this light, this glory.
"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." ~ 2 Corinthians 3:18
The Word of God is our mirror; it shows us who we really are. Since we are made in His image, we need to be "conformed to the image of His Son," as Romans 8:29 states. We need to start viewing our reflection carefully and making adjustments where needed. Colossians 3:8-10 states, "But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him..." God is holy, and He wants us to be holy, too: "...that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness" (Ephesians 4:22-24). We are made holy by the Spirit of God, which is obtained through the Word of God; this is why Paul says that we are transformed into the same image "just as by the Spirit of the Lord"! The exciting thing is that we HAVE this same, beautiful glory that Ezekiel is speaking about! Each time we put off the deeds of the flesh, we are becoming more and more transformed "into the SAME image FROM GLORY TO GLORY"!
