How You Can Help Your B.A.S.I.C This Christmas

This Christmas, there are many wonderful opportunities for us as the Body of Christ to help our Brothers And Sisters In Chains (B.A.S.I.C)!

First and formost, you can PRAY always. So many of our brothers and sisters around the world are suffering. One such person is Asia Bibi, a Christian Pakistani woman who was imprisoned for sharing her faith with some Muslims. Think of what you would do if you were in her shoes; don't turn a blind eye to this situation. She has a family (whom, I have just learned, are now in hiding); she has a life to live like the rest of us. Now, more than ever, she needs our prayers. The latest developements on her case can be found here. And there are many more Christians like her who need our prayers and support; go here to learn more. Since we live in freedom, and have the privilege to serve God, we have no excuse to not stand up for others who cannot stand up for themselves!

"Remember the prisoners as if chained with them--those who are mistreated--since you yourselves are in the body also." ~ Hebrews 13:3

Secondly, I have just discovered an almost effortless way that you can support orphans in Nigeria this Christmas! You can do all your online shopping through Good2Give.com! Every dollar you spend on your purchase will be donated to support an orphan through The Voice of the Martyrs' Stephen Centre International! How cool is that? You get your purchase, and the orphan gets the needed care that he would not otherwise have. (And since it's Cyber Monday, the biggest online shopping/deal day of the year, why not start now?!)

Also, Compassion International has teamed up with Daysprings cards to offer you the opportunity to write to a child in Ecuador. Whether or not you are able to sponser a child at this time, you can let each child know that Jesus loves them this Christmas. This promotion is specifically for unsponsored children, though. Go here for details! It ends TODAY, so don't wait!

"Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow." ~ Isaiah 1:17

"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." ~ James 1:27

Comments

  1. Thank you Miss S. for compiling this wonderful collection of ways to help others. I will check them out and continue to pray for the incarcerated around the world. I also wanted to thank you for leaving your sweet comments with the scriptures of encouragement in the wake of my FIL's recent passing. Blessings, Eastlyn
