Cool Video: Mathematics and God

I just watched this short video about the mathematical existence for God. While I am aware that to an atheist this would not be sufficient proof of God's existence, it is pretty cool! Check it out!

The Christmas Billboard Controversy & The Comback

Image
About a month ago, I was made aware of the American Atheists' attempt to stifle the true meaning of Christmas. What do I mean by that? Take a look: This billboard is being displayed in New York City by the Lincoln Tunnel on the New Jersey side! Don't get me started, but I do find that a bit offensive; I realize that the billboard is on New Jersey's side, but just the fact that it's even by the New Jersey entrance to New York is maddening. I LIVE  in New York (albeit Upstate), and I can tell you first hand that not everyone agrees with their statement that "it's a myth." And they are basically implying that those of us who believe in Christ's birth (and why He came) are nuts, that we don't use reason: "This Season, Celebrate Reason"! Talk about subtle (or not) indoctrination, not to mention all the people who will be offended by the billboard! (And I am aware that not every atheist agrees with the stance of the American Atheists.) Her

How You Can Help Your B.A.S.I.C This Christmas

This Christmas, there are many wonderful opportunities for us as the Body of Christ to help our Brothers And Sisters In Chains (B.A.S.I.C)! First and formost, you can PRAY always. So many of our brothers and sisters around the world are suffering. One such person is Asia Bibi, a Christian Pakistani woman who was imprisoned for sharing her faith with some Muslims. Think of what you would do if you were in her shoes; don't turn a blind eye to this situation. She has a family (whom, I have just learned, are now in hiding); she has a life to live like the rest of us. Now, more than ever, she needs our prayers. The latest developements on her case can be found here . And there are many more Christians like her who need our prayers and support; go here to learn more. Since we live in freedom, and have the privilege to serve God, we have no excuse to not stand up for others who cannot stand up for themselves! "Remember the prisoners as if chained with them--those who are mistrea

Something Beautiful: A Song

This week, for Renee's Something Beautiful meme , I'm going to post something that is totally out of the ordinary for this blog: a music video that has nothing to do with apologetics! :) Those of you who follow me on Twitter (or know me personally) know that I love to sing. Well, this video is one of my singing inspirations; me and a few friends often like to harmonize this and a few other a-cappella songs/hymns. I am posting this not only for the amazingly beautiful vocal talent of The Martins, but also for the beautiful message behind the hymn "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow." Enjoy! Happy Monday!

Mark Lowry's "Dealing With an Atheist" Video

Today, I rediscovered a video by comedian Mark Lowry, entitled, " Home Depot/Dealing With An Atheist." The first half has absolutely nothing to do with apologetics, but I thought it was so funny that I included it anyways. In the second half, Mark shares a story of his first encounter with an atheist. I do have a few disclaimers for this video, though: First of all, do NOT watch the first half while you are eating (for more than one reason, as you shall see)! :) Secondly,  while I do not endorse Home Depot due to its support of homosexuals , I did find the first half to be quite humerous -- because it is true! :D Thirdly, I am in no way attacking atheists by posting this video; however, I do find Mark's points to be quite pertinent to the "Does God Exist?" debate. Sometimes, I think it's good to be lighthearted about topics like this, because it's a unique way to get the point across. I was "laughing my head off" all the way through it; I h

Inspiring Story: Thanksgiving Special

Okay, so I know that I'm a bit late in putting this up, but I promised you all that I was going to have a special Inspiring Story for Thanksgiving. I went through many videos, trying to find just the perfect one, and while it isn't specifically "thanksgiving-ish," I wanted to post it for you all because it is very inspiring. It's a testimony by a Latin Soul Artist named Martin Cantu. The quality isn't the greatest, but the story is awesome! Enjoy! The thought that comes to mind when I hear testimonies like these is just how thankful I am to God for all that He is doing around the world. Sometimes, we get stuck in "our own little worlds," and we fail to see that other people have real needs, too. God is filling that need in amazing ways... let's be the tool -- like Joyce was in this case --through which He does it! Happy Thanksgiving! Do you have a story that you'd like to share? HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

"[I]n everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."  ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 I just wanted to take a moment to wish all of you a very blessed Thanksgiving! I am thankful for each and every one of you who have made this blog a success -- for those of you have left me wonderful comments, and those of you who have supported me with encouragement throughout the years. May God bless each one of you! Let us thank the Lord, not just once a year, but always for his goodness: "Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!" ~ Psalm 107:8 "Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.... Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these United States... th

WFW: Doers of the Word

Matthew 7:16-21 "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into th fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven...." There are varying opinions on what this verse means, so today, I'd like to focus on this passage briefly. Let's start by examining verse 15:  "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Here, we see that Jesus was speaking about hypocrisy. But it is important to notice that this was right after He said, "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broa

Inspiring Story: If God Is Real...

Welcome to another session of Inspiring Story! If you would like to share a story, you can link up at the bottom of this post. Today, I'd like to share one of my favorite stories with y'all. For a long time, I've been a great admirer of Travel the Road ministries. This is a missionary-based ministry; Tim Scott and Will Decker put their missionary trips into documentaries so the rest of us can see what God is doing around the world! On one of their trips, they trekked through the snow-covered mountains of Siberia. As night approached, they were looking for a place to escape the bitter cold when they came upon a tent. The owners were not around, so they decided to go inside the tent to warm themselves. Sometime later, a father and his son returned to their tent and found some unexpected guests whom they warmly (no pun intended) welcomed! The father later told Tim and Will that he and his son were having a discussion in which he told his son, "If Jesus is real, He will

Atheism and... Feminism?

I just watched this excellent video of Ravi Zacharias answering a question on Atheism and Feminism. Ravi does such a good job of explaining just how valuable women are to God that I had to share it. Enjoy!]

Atheism And It's Problems

The following is based on Ray Comfort's book God Doesn't Believe in Atheists . This post is by no means exhaustive on the topic; my goal here is to provide the three main problems of atheism, as I see it. ---------- Recently, I saw an atheist’s claim, “Atheists are Atheists because they are right; there is no god.” I promptly responded, “I assume you have proof for this claim; if I say, ‘Christians are Christians because they are right – there is a God,’ I need proof, and I have it. What proof do you have?” The trouble is that most atheists can’t tell you because they don’t have proof; their faith is based primarily on the assumption of “seeing is believing,” the “facts” of evolution, or the “blind faith” of atheism. Many atheists (some without realizing it) have fallen into a trap: it’s not that they can’t find God, it’s that they won’t, because they have hardened their hearts: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1) Ray Comfort was right when he

What Temperature Are You?

Today, I'd like to share a message by Mark Cahill that I found to be very inspiring, yet challenging to us as Christians. It's called "Lukewarm - NO MORE!" It is an hour long, but I encourage you to at least listen while you do other things if you can't give it your undivided attention; it will be an hour well spent! Special thanks to Alice for pointing me to it! :)
