In honor of Thanksgiving, my favorite "holiday," I'd like to say that I am EXTREMELY thankful for the underlying message that the whole Bible contains: that of the Father's great love for us, that we can be his children! Psalm 19:9 "The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether." If you remember, we had " theorized " that if the fear of the Lord is clean, it follows that if we fear the Lord, we are clean. I'd like to start this week by looking at Psalm 51; it is an excellent chapter and it brings out many of the points that I will be talking about today. Today, I'm going to continue my study on the fear of the Lord. I'd like to refer back to this point: If you fear the Lord, you have wisdom and knowledge and are therefore happy. When I first included this point in the quiz , I didn't realize just how many Scriptures concur with this. Let's start with the Scripture which was the foundation for that point: Prov. 9:10 -- "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom , And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Prov 1:7 -- "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Isaiah 33:6 - "And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD."
